School Uniform Information
Please make sure
your clothing choices follow our school uniform policy (see section below) before
making any purchases.
School Uniform Policy The student uniform at CrossRoad Christian Academy is designed
to reflect the Christian attitude and environment of our school. In addition,
we attempt to instill within each student a respect for Godly standards in
action as well as appearance. Royal
(cobalt) blue polo shirts with the embroidered CCA logo are required to be
worn on Chapel day, during field trips, off-campus activities, and school
picture day. Uniform polo shirts with the embroidered CCA
logo are available for purchase through DENNIS Uniform (or Land’s End
School until December 2009). Uniforms may also be purchased at the DENNIS
Uniform store (and at the Land’s End counter at Sears until December
2009). Students are free to mix and match the following articles of apparel:
†Skorts are skirts with
built-in shorts. Skirts worn over separate shorts are also acceptable. Dress Code 1.
Uniform shirts,
bearing the old CCA non-embroidered logo, are permitted to be worn provided
they are free of stains, rips, tears or holes. 2.
Students are to wear CCA logo bearing shirts, jackets,
sweaters, or sweatshirts only.
Only cold/rainy weather coats with logo purchased through DENNIS Uniform. 3.
Girls wearing skorts or jumpers may wear navy, white or
black solid colored tights. 4.
Layering is not allowed except for plain white undershirts
or white turtle neck shirts on cold days. These shirts may be worn under
uniform shirts and must not show below uniform shirt. 5.
Hair will be moderate in style, length, and color. No
mohawks, fades with mohawks, or designs cut into the hair. No hair dye or
bleaching. No facial hair is allowed. 6.
Underclothes will not be showing at any time. Pants should
fit in the waist so underwear doesn’t show above the waistline even
under a loose shirt. Girls may need to wear play shorts beneath jumpers. 7.
Shoes are to be worn and fastened at all times. Bare feet,
sandals or high-heeled shoes are not permitted. Shoes with wheels are not
permitted. 8.
Lower School students are not permitted to wear cosmetics.
Middle School girls may wear cosmetics modestly. 9.
Only small inconspicuous jewelry may be worn. Boys are not
permitted to wear earrings but may wear a watch and small necklace. Girls may
wear one set of post or stud earrings (one earring per earlobe) or hoop
earrings – not to exceed ½ inch, one necklace, one bracelet and/or
watch. No dangling earrings allowed. 10.
Hats beanies and/or caps without the CCA logo, or other insignias or images, are not
permitted. Sunglasses are permitted outdoors only at the teacher’s discretion. Note: If a student is
out of compliance with our uniform policy, the parent will be notified to
bring a change of clothing (the administration will make the final decision
on appropriateness of attire). Students will not be admitted to class if they
are out of uniform or if their uniform is in disrepair when they arrive at
school. Free Dress Days Periodically a NON-UNIFORM DRESS DAY will be granted on special
days or as an all school reward. The following guidelines are to be followed
on those days: 1.
The following are not permitted: mini skirts, swim wear,
short shorts, tank tops, halter tops, midriffs, skin tight clothing as outer
garments, and pants with messages across the bottom. 2.
Students may wear modest mid-length shorts that are neat
in appearance. 3.
T-shirts are acceptable if designed for outer wear. The
only “message” apparel permitted are the following: clothing
brand names, constructive environmental messages, positive Christian values
(e.g., Bible verses, Christian symbols and messages), personal sports teams,
university/college insignias, positive appropriate theme park characters, and
nature pictures. 4.
Parents may be contacted if dress code is not followed. Note: On Non-Uniform
Dress Days, the administration will make the final decision on appropriateness
of attire on an individual basis. If clothing is inappropriate, middle school
P.E. clothes will be worn for the remainder of the day. |
